INERT SIEX 541 combines the extinguishing agents of Argon, Nitrogen and CO2 to ensure fire suppression with unique features. They fight the fire by reducing the oxygen in the room, always at a concentration suitable for allowing for the evacuation of personnel. In addition, the low percentage of CO2 included in the mixture is suitable for use in occupied areas. This feature distinguishes it from the rest of the inert gas systems, making it one of the most popular options for our customers.

The system operates by total flooding of the room, ensuring discharge in less than 1 minute. It is suitable for class A, B and C hazards. SIEX has two types of systems depending on the storage pressure: INERT SIEX 541 200 bar and INERT SIEX 541 300 bar, in this way adapting the quantity of the necessary extinguishing agent, to the available storage space for the cylinders.

300 bar

The cylinder sizes for this pressure are 80 and 140 liters and are manufactured under CE standards and the 2010/35/EU directives for transportable pressure equipment. Constructed in seamless, heat-treated alloy steel for a working pressure of 300 bar and a test pressure of 450 bar. The RGS-MAM-12-2 valves are constructed using brass forged according to the DIN 17672 standard. For any working pressure, a nanometre (nm) control may be incorporated (of up to 300 or 400 bar depending on the system).

200 bar

Cylinders sizes include 67, 80 and 140 liters and are manufactured according to CE standards and the 2010/35/EU directives for transportable pressure equipment. Constructed in seamless, heat-treated alloy steel for a working pressure of 200 bar and a test pressure of 300 bar. RGS-MAM-12-2 and RGS-MAM-12 2C valves constructed using forged brass according to the DIN 17672 standard are 100% tested. Its design, unique in the market, provides easy recharging and a combination of actuators covering all market needs. They open quickly and completely, allowing for total passage.

About IG 541 extinguishing agent

The agent, which is composed of atmospheric substances, has an ozone depletion potential of zero and does not contribute to global warming. It is made up of 40% argon, 52% nitrogen and 8% CO2, although these proportions may vary depending on the protected hazard. It is a colorless, odorless, tasteless, electrically non-conductive and chemically neutral gas. It is a clean gas which generates no residue and if therefore suitable for use in hazards where the cleanliness of the extinguishing agent might be an issue or is likely to affect installed equipment.

It is non-toxic, and therefore not harmful to people when used at design concentrations. It does not generate chemical compounds which are toxic or have long atmospheric lives; it is non-corrosive and can be used at normal temperatures with materials typically used in industry and construction. It is electrically non-conductive and is therefore highly recommended for protecting electrical and electronic materials with no harm to the equipment.
